Sega CD mp.3 difficulties

Hi guys:)

Let me begin by saying im an intermediate emu junkie and i have HUNTED for an answer to this question and ive only found 1 solution and it doesnt work for me.. my problem is:

I downloaded darkwizard for the gens emulator, i extracted the folder inside the .rar. file to its own folder.. the readme the 12 mp3 files and the iso.
now when i start my Gens and run the DW rom, it runs YAY!!! but i get NO cd sound.... >.< i have re DL'ed the iso countless times and ive even gotten spiderman vs the kingpin to run the mp3 sound... but dark wizard refuses to play the mp3 files for sound ive turned off CDDA ive tryed perfect syncro i have correct bios files everything is ok... but i cannot get the bloody mp3 to play while im running the game.. the game sfx works fine i even get the town music thats loaded into the game but not the mp3 music.. it just is quiet while i play argh! the only solution ive found so far is someone has suggested to rename the files but when i click properties it gives me no option to do so,
whats weird is i HAVE gotten music to play for darkwizared on my gens emu in the past no problem.. ive DL'ed this iso from so many sources it cant be the iso.. whats wrong please help i need my music lol

I just would like to add that the dark wizard mp.3 files are intact and work on any music player and i can burn them to cd just fine, the files are not corrupt and as i mentioned earlier i got spiderman vs kingpin mp.3s to work just fine

i also just went through the forums back pages and noticed a couple other posts about this problem havnt been answered.... im hoping by now you emu junkie lords .. and i mean LORDS@@ know what the problem is!!!

Also i just found another problem YES i know you all LOVE ME!!!
This new problem is with spider man vs the kingpin: whenever i die the screen goes black and no loading happens lol so basically everything works just dont bloody well DIE, or you have to reload the Gens:((((( anyword on this problem?

You're playing from an .iso, and your .mp3s are misnamed:
1. The naming convention for ISO/MP3 sets MUST be used
a. track.iso, track02.mp3, track03.mp3...
b. NOT track01.iso, or track.iso and track01.mp3;
THAT WILL NOT WORK

I had the same problem but I would like to tell you how I could I do it.
Of course this is a complex work but the sound is good and I have my themes in my own cd, and even in MP3 vertion.

Well, the thing that I did was:

Recorded each music theme to my VHS recorder.
I hat to plug my pc to my VHS IN sound, so I recorded some images from tv, but with the sound of my sega cd game: final figth.

Then, I play my VHS tape and again record it to my pc.

I have FREE H-Q recorder that I downloaded from : www.download.com

This free program allows you to save your music from an extern device, like turn tables, or external cd players, or even tape players.

So when I had it I just could transalte the music to mp3.

I could do this one because I still have my VHS recorder. But you could do the same thing if you can exit any sound from your pc, and record the music or sound even in a celular phone.

Yes it is a complex thing but it works.

or yes, you could try with a convertor, because like Mjshl2 said. The files areon ISO, not in MP3.

wow guys sorry i havnt checked in a while, FULLY appreciate the responses!

ok now HOW do i go about renaming the mps files? the darned file gives me no option to do so....if it gets bad ill do the vcr thing but i want the easy way out lol :))))

Simple right-click on the file in question and select rename change the name of the file and then press enter (it's that simple)

Edit: I just downloaded the dark wizard rom and I can run it with sound the MP3 files are set up correctly so the fault would lie with your emulator since you are using gens and I was using kega fusion so you might want to try a different emulator (like what I used)

You have to name the MP3 files so that they match the name of the image file so as the image for dark wizard is Dark Wizard.iso then the first audio file would be Dark Wizard 02.mp3 and so on until you get to track 11 which would be Dark Wizard 12.mp3

darn it i looked for it and i did see dark wizard.iso so i renamed them all like you said " dark wizard 02.mp3 " and still nothing.. so im assuming its me emulator grrr... ill try kega next.. im sure it hasta be the emu becuase i HAVE gotten it to work before on gens.. ill try that before i post anymore hehe:))) TY guys for the replies thats huge!
