I have an Intel based iMac.
I have Parallels Desktop installed so i can use windows xp and Mac os X at the same time.
I downloaded Project 64 and everytime I attempt to use it.. it says that the Direct3D plugin is not initialized..

what do I do to fix this? I've searched everywhere.. can't seem to find an answer.

lmao...how can you download Project64 on a Macintosh OS? PJ64 is for Windows, only.

Try getting Mupen64 - Macintosh Edition, SixtyForce, or Fake64. Those are all N64 Mac emulators. There was a fourth one as well...

I thought he said he can use Windows? So, wouldn't he just need to make sure he's got DirectX installed?

Oops. Didn't read that.

Okay, I don't support Mac emulators, so you may want to use Windows emulators. There are two things you need to do to fix this issue:

The plugin may not have initialized most likely because of your video card/video card drivers. Do you know how to tell what video card you have?
It may also have failed to load because you don't have DirectX 8. You could just download the latest version of DirectX from http://www.microsoft.com/directx, but you could also use a plugin that uses the OpenGL rendering engine instead, like glN64 or Glide64.

I never use mac but I don't think you can install directx on it(unless you use windows on a new mac). so the opengl plugin will probably be you best bet(that or a emulator design for a mac os)

Just because you have a new mac that will load windows, doesnt mean its going to run windows correctly. a mac is still a mac. you will need to download a LOT of drivers and fixes to try to run a windows N64 emu anything as good it its runs on a real pc on a mac.
