Coca-Cola (often Coke) is a carbonated cola (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cola) and the world's most popular soft drink (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_drink). The Coca-Cola Company (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Coca-Cola_Company)'s headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta%2C_Georgia), where the drink was first concocted around 1886 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1886). Coke's inventor John Styth Pemberton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Pemberton) was not a shrewd marketer of his drink, and the ownership of Coke eventually passed to Asa Candler (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asa_Candler), whose company remains the producer of Coke today. Candler's successful marketing, continued by his successors such as Robert Woodruff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_W._Woodruff), established Coke as a major soft drink first in the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) and later around the world.
It's formula:
As a publicity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Publicity) marketing strategy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marketing_strategy) started by Ernest Woodruff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_Woodruff), the company presents the formula of Coca-Cola as one of the most closely-held trade secrets (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trade_secret) in modern business, to which only a few employees have access.[19] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca-Cola#_note-15) In particular, the secret ingredient "7X" has long been touted an integral component of Coca Cola's formula though it has never been established what, if anything, the "X" refers to. It has been stated that Coca-Cola had employees mix the drink by numbers assigned to specific ingredients rather than by name, to avoid the possibility of employees reverse-engineering the recipe. However, experienced perfumers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfumery) and food scientists (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_science) — today aided by modern analytical (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analytical_chemistry) methods — can easily identify the composition of food products, a fact that is further supported by the many cola flavorings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flavoring) and competing soft drinks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_drink) like Pepsi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepsi).
In his book For God, Country and Coca-Cola, author Mark Pendergrast claims to have discovered a recipe for the drink in the company's archives. It includes: Citrate caffein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine_citrate), ext. vanilla (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanilla), F.E. Coco (fluid extract of coca (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca)), citric acid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citric_acid), lime juice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lime_%28fruit%29), sugar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar), water (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water), and caramel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caramel) sufficient, and "X": oils of orange (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_oil), lemon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemon), nutmeg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutmeg_oil), cinnamon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnamomum), coriander (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coriander), and neroli (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neroli).

Did you know that cola could eat piece of meat at one day, so think what i does to your organs...

So what u think about it's affect on body and should or shouldn't u drink it. ;)

Heh, I almost only drink fruitjuices and water, so I'm fine anyway. When ever I do feel like having some popsoda like drink I go for Red Bull or Fanta or something. I do drink coke sometimes though, with Bacardi :D ......

Personally, I can't tell the difference between drink and smoke.:D

But no, I'm not that bad. My parents rarely buy Coke, anyway, and if they do, to my memory (which could be bad depending on the side effects of Coke), it is not something I've ever smoked but drank.

oh dude! i just thought of the nastiest thing! okay, so last year some chick did a science project on what soda would rot/break down meat faster or something like that. well, our dumbass teacher decided she could leave it in the room. weeeeeell. one thing led to another and eventually we had about four cups of rotting meat stewing in its own juices in the back of the room for about three weeks.

lol

I love coke, I drink it all the time. Hell, other drinks are a lot worse. And if you've heard of coke rotting your teeth, to prevent this you can just take a swig of water after drinking coke, this washes the stuff and prevents decay.

Gum is hellova lot worse than coke. With gum, the common choices are to either swallow it or spit it out. If you swallow it, there is a high chance of it getting clogged in your gullet, which can result in later problems, if you choose to spit, stomach acid is produced, but not used to break down this gum because you don't swallow it, so it stays in your digestive system and causes stomach pains.

It was like 50 years ago, when Cocaine was cheap and affordable. They put a small amount in to cause addiction, they didn't put enough to cause harm.

has anyone tried that coke: blak stuff? it's supposed to be coke-flavored coffee.....

its horrible. we bought a botle once and i couldnt drink more than two gulps of that awful stuff. it doesnt even seem like it has coffe in it or anything. it was like alchohol or something and i felt like cr@p for days. apperently not too many others like it, because they sell four packs of it with a little money back coupon on it.

i figured. i don't like coffee, the closest i'll ever get to it is hot chocolate.

oh, and crap isn't caught by the word filter. it's words like **** and **** that bleep out

whats really good is if you fill a cup half full with hot chocolate, add 1/4 some fancy coffe and 1/4 normal coffe and then add cream! (its fun to **** around at convenient stores!)

and i wasnt trying to get past the filter, i just figured id play it safe and not write it right out. plus, i almost never use words like **** and ****.

Just to add a fact, when you call Coke up directly for an ingredients list for allegerins, Citric Acid is not in it. We had to call them up due to someone in my family has an intolerance to Citric Acid and an allegry to Citrus. Oh, and meat can't be deteriorated with Coke unless you let it rot.

In the 1970's Coca-Cola used to add a little bit of Coca Leaf (aka Cocaine) in thier prouduct which is one of the reasons why its called Coca-Cola. They eventually took the Coca Leaf out of Coca-Cola but while it lasted they made hell of money. Who the Drug Dealers now People from the hood or Cooperate America.

When it was cheap and affordable, prices have gone waaaaay up nowadays. Besides, they didn't put nearly enough to cause harm, they just wanted to cause slight addiction, which they did.

Hell, in the 70s lots of people put stuff in stuff, Bars used to put salt in people's drinks so they'd get thirsty drinking and have another drink. It became illegal.

Good point I Didnt think about all the other companies that pulled similar schemes to get money. But I still think that was one of the worst schemes.

I hear Aspartame(used in many Diet Soda products) can cause colds, headaches, etc.
I know many people trying to get it off the market and replace it with sucralose.

Myself, I don't really drink alot of Soda products anymore, unless it's mixed with something...

Yeah I read about that online, and Aspartame isnt used in just diet sodas, just about ANY Diet drink, such as Diet Tea, has Aspartame in it. I think I read somewhere they think that Aspartame can lead to cancer also but I dont remember and I dont feel like looking it up atm.

Australia, Germany, Finland and a few others. :)

Gum isn't banned in Germany. It was banned in Singapore during the 90's.

I drink waaay too much coke, but I brush my teeth after drinking... I brush my teeth in Coke

Brushing your teeth after drinking coke is not a good idea. :nono:
The sugar in the coke softens the dental enamel of your teeth,
which you would then brush away.
You should wait about 20 min after drinking coke if you don't want to harm your teeth.
