But I havn't got a clue, what emulator and what plugins I should use!
N64 emulation, is something I have tried in the past, and failed so hard with.

Tell me, If I one hour want to play Mischeif makers, and the second OOT, how do I make it so, that emulation is perfect? (or atleast enjoyable), without having to constantly tweak around?

Y'see Mischeif makers has always spelt trouble for me, and so does paper mario.

For Zelda OOT, install Mupen64 and use that to play the game. Results should be great, if your system is sufficient.

I'd rather have one solution for many.

But that is a impossibility, isn't it?

Emulation programming isn't that easy, but try it out, see what happens.

I wouldn't even dare to.
Well, not until I learn ASM and C++ fo' realz... i'm not gonna program an emulator.

Isn't there some FAQ or topic around here that could help me out?

I meant, try Mupen64, if you really want to perfectly emulate this game.

Not here on coolrom, but they have a Programming forum on emutalk.net.

Use Project 64, generally the best. I've had no problems playing Mischief Makers with that. A few little graphical errors though, but nothing serious :) .....

But he is asking for perfect emulation, which, for this game, cannot be obtained using Project64.

Besides, I don't think anyone on this site can name a single game that works better on Project64 than any other emulator.

I might aswell bend it when it comes to n64.
As close to the games as possible without having to use several emulators for about the four games which I intend to play.

The best emulator for Mischief Makers is 1964. Project64 has gfx glitches with this game.
For the Zelda games, it's Mupen64.

I guess, if you want to use a single emulator for these two games, try 1964 when using the Glide64 graphics plugin.

You know how they ripped the BIOS and stuff from the PSX? How come they can't do that with the N64, or is there something more complicated that I'm missing?

I'd imagine they can. I really doubt it's impossible. I only suspect that it's faster for emulation speed to use a simple DirectX/OpenGL rendering engine method to emulate the games than to use the BIOS on PC hardware.

And I'm done.

God n64 sucks without a proper gamepad imo.

I'm perfectly happy with the keyboard. You didn't say you were having an input issue.
