need help with saturn

hi im new to his forum and i hope you can help me with my problem.
you see, i just downloaded a saturn game called virtual on. however, im not quite sure how to run this game. i've downloaded all the saturn emulators but i just cant figure out how to use any of them. if anyone can explain with great detail (im a newbie:( ) i would really appreciate it. thanks in advanced.:)

hmm well i got the emulator to work but it can't play the rom. im using the ssf emulator right now. when i run the emulator, i come across a screen that allows me to press play, adjust volume, etc (kinda like when u turn on ur system without a cd inside). it keeps telling me that theres no cd inside. i use daemon tools and i do have the rom running but it still doesnt work. am i supposed to actually burn the rom onto a cd and have the emulator play it from my cd drive? thanks for any replies.

Your mistake sounds like your not matching the Bios and the Region properly.
So if your Rom is Euro, then you need the area code and Bios to both be set to Euro as well. Since you cant always see what the Rom's region is, just try matching all 3(US,Jap,Euro) until one of them works.

My problem was selecting the wrong CD drive. ha ha.

Check if you have selected the emulated CD drive.

sorry but what exactly is stv bios?
what am i supposed to load as the saturn bios and stv bios?

Don't worry about the Stv Bios. You need to find the three Saturn Bios files. One for each region.

ok i got it to work. thanks for all the help. however i have one last problem. whenever the games starts, i get this drivestatus_play error, causing me to lose the game's background music and also forcing it to crash after one battle. i've tried all three bios and all the regions. anyone have any ideas what causes this?
