Emulating Sega Model 2 Arcade Games

Since House of the Dead doesnt work in Sega Saturn very well, I figured some people might be interested in the Sega Model 2 Emulator. It runs House of the Dead much better. There is a little sound problem with every game, but they are still very playable. Sega Model 2 Emulator supports a handful of other Games. Games it supports are shown below.

Configuring the controls for the House of the Dead is a bit tricky.
So load up House of the Dead, Hit F2 once game is booted. Select Gun Setting like shown below. Use the F1 button to go up and down, and use F2 to select your Option.

Go to Player 1 Gun Adjustment.

It will then take you to the Calibrating screen.

Place your mouse as much in the middle of the Grid as possible and shoot. You will have to do this on two corners of the Screen. After youve done this it will say calculating. It will then show a yellow dot like shown below. That should be directly in the middle of the cursor. The yellow dot is where it will fire.

You then hit F2 (if your satisfied with where the dot is) to memorize the Setting. Then it should be Configured. You will have to do this for the other gun games aswell.

I've never bothered with Zinc before, what R the minimum spec.s U need for this emu. anyway?? I have a AMD Duron 1600MHz, 512MB RAM and a 64MB GFX card (don't ask what happened to my other PC or I must kill U :p), will I be able to run this emu. at full speed with my PC??


And what's that screenie of Sonic doing there?? He stars in House of the Dead too?? :p...

I think it will run, not sure how fast. I get a little bit of slowdown sometimes but nothing major. I think it should be fine. Thats a picture of Sonic the Fighters, Sega model 2 Emulates this game. Im not sure the Minimum Requirements for Sega Model 2 or Zinc.

Oke, I just thought it was a little weird to see a Sonic pic. in a House of the Dead emulation guide, that's all :p.

I'm gonna have to try this emu. out one day, I'm a big fan of the Arcades, it's a sin and a shame that the Arcades in my town all have become casinos and such, with those crap fruitmachines, I really don't see any fun in that...

Theres not much more to write, all you do is get the Emulator. Get the roms. Paste them under roms folder. Run them.
I just included the Pic because I showed the Rom list at the top. Which shows Sonic Championship listed.

how do i get this thing to work, i downloaded the rom for house of the dead and how do i get it to run? it says there are missing files, load aborted. could u post screenshots with walkthrough of how to do it?

Its really quite easy, paste roms under roms folder, then run them. Some roms need 2 files. As for HOTD it only needs one. It must say CRX on the end of it. Check that link at the top. PM me if you need more help.
This is what the rom file you need should say: House Of The Dead, The [Model 2C CRX]

Mjshl2, did you try all of the Sega Saturn emulators for House of the Dead? For the N64, when I see that nothing, not even changing your plugins or RDB emulator configuration will fix a ROM, I change to a lower-rated emulator, which nicely works sometimes. Did you try all of the emulators at emulator-zone.com? If not, I'll test them.

That Sonic game is called Sonic the Fighters or Sonic Championship.
If you want to play Hotd2 on your PC, get the PC version or Emulate it with Chankast .25.


No, this runs it just fine so I didnt care to check the other Saturn Emus.

I downloaded SonicChamps,when i try to load the game it says i have misssing files,i tried creating a folder,and a subdictorey,and it did not work.Am i'm doing something wrong?

Yes, you must be. All you have to do with the rom, is put it under the roms directory. Theres only one file you need for this one(Sonic The Fighters [Model 2B CRX]). As long as its left zipped up in the roms folder it should be fine.

You need the emulator.
You need the rom

Install the emulator.
Place the rom zipped in the rom directory.

Run the emulator.
Go file open rom
Select your rom.

Actually, What I've noticed about the latest version of this emulator is that you actually need to create a rom folder. But it's easy enough. Unzip and open the Model 2 folder, in that folder, right click, and select new folder. Name that folder "roms" (without the quotations and without capitalizing). Now I know this happens if you download it straight from the Nebula website, and version 0.5a .

You can say it on english,but i don't understand in wich rom directionary:mad2: :shocked: . and how should instal the emu. when i download it i must unzip it and that was all.
