if your downloadin a "rom" file you will need an emulator. this site has all the good emulators in the emulatoer section. i recomend using the project 64 emulator for N64 roms. i hope this has helped you and i didnt get the wrong idea from your post, if you need anymore help just PM me or leave another post im sure someone else can help you.

I hate to tell you this, but Star Wars Rogue Squardon doesn't work with any emulator I have found, neither does Battle for Naboo:(
Some games just can't be emulated properly and these are two of them. Most N64 roms work fine, some games just won't.
I definitly recommend Project64 1.6 though, it is the best and can be downloaded in the emulator section of this site. Hopfully when they realease version 1.7 it can play these games. They have a picture of 1.7 playing Star Wars Rogue Squardon on the pj64.net homepage:)
I still can't get the current 1.7 beta to work with it though:mad:

the only way I have ever gotten 1964 to work is to delete the video plugin from it and replace it with the video plugin from PJ64.
What kind of error are you having with PJ64? Does it say error when you try to download it, cause you can get it from many places including the official homepage www.PJ64.net
Is it an error you when when trying to install?
Have you already got it installed and you get the error when you try to load a rom?

Hey I got the version project64 1.5 intalled, but not 1.7. What do I do now?
jambog
04-08-2006, 09:54 PM
Why did you get 1.5? I've never tried it, I'm sure it would work fine but 1.6 is probably a little more stable.
1.7 is just a beta and the only way to get it is to donate to the pj64.net. I donated and got it, but I can't get it to work with my system at all on any roms. It is still unstable. Although donating to pj64 is a good cause:)
For now I would just be happy they got 1.6 out right now and keep waiting and hoping for a stable release of 1.7 so you can play Star Wars:)

Hey thank's for the help. I am saving it right now. what should I do when it's done saving.
jambog

Should just be able to click and install it. After it is installed if it doesn't add a shortcut to your desktop (Mine didn't) just go to the
"C:\Program files\Project64 1.6" folder and create a shortcut of project64.exe and put it on your desktop or whereever you want.
I also recommend getting the RDB update at this link
http://www.pj64.net/main/download/func,select/id,7/
You don't have too, but it may make some games run better.
Just read the instruction on the same link to know how to update the file after you download it.

Just download N64 roms here at http://www.coolrom.com/roms/n64/all
Goldeneye is by far my favorite N64 game if you've never played it. Super Mario 64 is also another personal favorite, you can't download it on this site though cause of ESA rules, but if you search hard enough you might be able to find it. There are lots of titles to choose from, I'm sure there is something you will like

I am going to download Yosi's Story. When It's done downloading what file should put it in or do i play it automatically?
jambog
04-08-2006, 10:39 PM
After you download it just open up PJ64 and go to "File" the "Open rom" and then browse to wherever you saved the rom at. Double click the rom and it should load.
Also use the "Options" and "Configure Controller Plugin..." to configure your controller. You can use the keyboard (Which is difficult to use) or any USB controller.
There is no need to unzip the file you download either, you can, but it will just take up more space on your harddrive. PJ64 unzips them automatically when it loads them.

I tried to load yoshi's story's rom but the download did not show up for some resoning. It's working for Goldeneye64.
jambog
04-08-2006, 10:49 PM
Hmm, I tried to load Yoshi's Story and got some kind of Unhandled Opcode error:confused:
Like I said, sometimes ROMs just can't be emulated. I would take a guess that 90% of all N64 games will work, but occasionaly some won't like Star Wars and Yoshi's Story:(
harger
04-08-2006, 10:51 PM
What all games that are good can I download?
jambog
04-08-2006, 10:59 PM
Hmm, the only ones I know off hand are the two Star Wars games I mentioned before, and now Yoshi's Story.
I've always like Star Wars Episode I Racer and it works fine wiht PJ64
If you have highspeed internet just find a game you want and DL it, if it doesn't work then no big deal. If you have dial up and it takes you a while to download the games, then just list some you think you would like and I will try mine and tell you if they work.
Also, here is the Nintendo Master List, its list what Genre the game is (Action, RPG, Puzzle, Sports, ect) if you are looking for some titles of a certain genre you can filter the game list to only list games of a certain genre.
Filter them using the "Catorgory:" box at top.
