im sure some off you have seen that new godfather game thats just come out
im thinking of getting it but err well i dnt wana buy it if its crap
soooo has anyone played it and whats it like?

Its actually not to bad, the graphics arent the greatest ive ever seen but they are pretty good. Overall not bad. Totally not worth $50 though. It should be priced at $30.

yeh thanks for that. yh $50 is a lot, near me i saw a copy of it for £20 2nd hand but at retail its goin for aroun £30 or in the skanky very comercial shops about £35~£39 like the £1 less than £40 makes a diffrence:)

They butchered the story so bad that if you're a big fan of the movie or the Mario Puzo novel this game will **** you off. Big time! If, on the other hand, you don't care about that sort of thing this is a GTA clone that's not too bad.
I rented it to check it out and it really ****ed me off about the story line and I have another reason to think EA is really starting to suck. Big time!
First they put out a half assed version of Madden with a stupid cone passing mode that nobody uses and then they screw up The Godfather licence.

These are just rumours put out by various websites that have been confirmed false. The last true thing about this was about 4 or 5 years ago. Andy Garcia said that he wanted to do another as did Puzo but the film companies did not. They was talk of Leonardo DiCaprio playing a role in the film but nothing of Vin Diesel.

As for the game...it's a great game. Contrary to what dude said. It does indeed follow the movie, but you don't play as one of the main charachters and it does have it's side story to it as well. That might be why the guy above got ****ed off about it. It's a fun game regardless and def worth checking out if your a fan of the Godfather.

I stand by my earlier post. This is not a great game in my opinion. Its average at best because, quite frankly, there are plenty of other games released at about the same time (and even last year, and a couple of years before that.) that just blow this one away. Rent this game before you buy it if you're dead set on playing it. I'm sure many would agree after watching the in game movies that follow the Godfather plot and then having the majority if your playing time consisting of shaking down store's for "Protection money and other "Ganster duties" like paying off cops and ripping off trucks.
Hell, Grand Theft Auto III blows this game away without even trying and its the weak one out of the last three GTA games.
I admit I didn't finish the game or even give it more than a few hours but, really, this was an offer I could easily refuse.
This isn't a horrible game by any means but --Come on folks--The Godfather deserved a hell of a lot better treatment than this.

With work and spending time with my reason for living ( I better get some brownie points for that honey ) along with other responsibilities I only have so much time I can devote to games and fun. I won't waste that time on games I consider sub par. I realize that there are some who would consider this game to be close to Nirvana and thats cool. I respect their opinions and thier right to put it out there. I'm also the type of guy thats not ashamed to put my own opinion out there even if nobody else in the place agrees with me or even hates it.
