I'm looking for some good instrumental rock, kinda like progressive metal. I'm listening to The Black Mages at the moment (That japanese dude's band) and they've got a few really good songs but it's not quite what I'm looking for.

Do you know any good instrumental rock/metal bands?

search around Newgrounds music area, they got some good stuff though short, but still good

It's just mostly techno-****, I tried several metal songs from there and they pretty much all sucked.

not all of it, if you go in general rock or whatever its called, I got some nice one out of there

Look for videogame music. Most of it is instrumental and awesome.

I know where to find video game music, but that's not what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the help anyway, I'll try those 2 Linkin Park songs, even though I hate Linkin Park.

EDIT: Cure for the Itch was A PAIN listening to, Session was OK but I've heard waaay better instrumentals.

encyclopedia metallum pwns all when it comes to metal. and you can browse by genre or something.
also, the older Burzum albums were more instrumental. theres other noreweigan stuff like it too.
as for non-metal instrumental stuff you should check out Goblin (from italy) and Zombi (which might be considered metal somewhere. i mean, it IS based on zombie movie soundtracks)
