Well for what its worth I saw boxes and boxes of PS3s in Barcelona, but I didn't see one person buy one or walking home with a PS3 box. When the Xbox 360 first came out they were completely sold out until after New Years holidays.
I think a lot of gamers over here felted snubbed that Sony put them last on their list to release the console to and now they are feeling it.

yeah but sega left out there best titles like streets of rage and they didnt really expand on sonic, i think its only a starting blip until the good titles come out

Lost Planet isn't really that good at all. :/
Dead Rising and Gears are good when you first get them, but you get tired of them really fast. Better off getting Rainbow Six: Vegas and GRAW 2.

Oh, and Konami is trying to release MGS4 on all systems, because Kojima loves Nintendo and figures they could make more money from Nintendo and Microsoft.
It's only a rumour though, don't trust it just yet.
