The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu includes first details on Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword for Nintendo DS. I remember Tecmo's Team Ninja announcing waaaaay back at E3 2004 that they were working on a Nintendo DS game, but I thought they'd given up on that entirely. Guess it just took a while.
From eyeballing the pics and the tiny snippets of legible text, I can tell that:
You hold the Nintendo DS on its side, Brain Age-style
The entire game is controlled via the touch screen, except for guarding.
That's kind of freaky, for an action-oriented series like Ninja Gaiden. Although it does explain the long delays: not even Nintendo has fully come to terms with how to develop an action game that uses the touch screen exclusively.
