7z Is 7 zip compression. You will need the 7zip extracting program. http://www.7-zip.org/ After that is installed you will be able to extract that filetype no problem.

Are you talking about downloading the files from Kameo's full rom sets? I downloaded the Gameboy ones and when I downloaded the file it saved it and something like "GB%20" I had to rename it to say "GB%20.rar" You can name it anything as long as it says ".rar" at the end. Then you use either the 7-z program ( http://www.7-zip.org/ ) or WinRAR ( http://www.rarlab.com/ ). I prefere the 7-z program myself, and it is completely free.
The only files on Kameo's list that have to have a .7z extension are SNES and SMD games I think. All others need to have a .rar extension.
After you install install either winrar or 7-z and rename the file with a .rar extension then you should be able to right click on the file and see something like "extract here" just choose it and it should prompt for the password, just type it and hit ok and it should extract all the files. This is of course if you are talking about Kameo's full rom sets, I assume that are the rom sets you are talking about.
