I have a Nintendo 64 and I used to have Cruisn' World until someone I trusted made off with the game and my 4x slotted memory card with all my game saves.

I really miss playing the game. I love it so much. And I just downloaded an emulator PJ64 1.5 because I knew there was something, someway I could enjoy the game again. Well I downloaded the Emulator and set it up right. And I also downloaded a Cruisn' World ROM. And I played it.

Well, I got an Error not to far into a Cruisn' Championship, not even past the first race. So I ended the emulation and retried. Menus are no exception to the error.

So I went and downloaded different Cruisn' World ROMs, because I knew there would be different versions. But all of them gave me the same error shortly into the game. Is there a Cruisn' World out there that will not produce the error?

It might help if you knew what the error was, hence I have a screenie. :D

I might even have the wrong fix to it. It may be some system, but I have a system that will run UnReal 2004 in Holy ****! mode. I mean I have 1G of RAM. Computing memory should not be a problem.

If there is a fix could someone please tell me quick. I really want to get some progress done on the game and get all my files back that I lost to the person I mistakenly trusted.

If it is the ROM please link me to one that has been tested and found highly reliable. Thank you.

I've never seen anything about this error. Have you tried Project 64 v1.6 instead if 1.5? The amount of RAM you have isn't the only consideration when running PJ64, the type of ram (SD or DDR) what type of video card you have and how much memory it has are also important factors. It could just be a bad install too. have you defraged your hard drive recently before installing PJ64?

Project 64 is the most compatible emulator, I would get 1.6 the latest version and try it. You can also try 1964 emulator and Nemu64 just to see how they work.

You may also want to try different video plugins. I doubt this is a video plugin issue if you can play the game fine up to a certain point though. But it could be a worth a try.

I have played both crusin' USA and crusin' Exotica on PJ 1.6 with no errors. but havn't tried crusin' world on it. I am out of town for the weekend and only have my laptop which can't run PJ64. I will try crusin' exotica when I get back to my main PC and see if I get the same error if somebody else doesn't already solve your problem by then...

Also remember some ROMs just can't be emulated properly no matter where you download them at.

Thanks for some feedback. I hope you get the opportunity to run Cruisn' World soon and see if the same error comes up.

I will try some of the methods you said to and see if that fixes any of the bugs.

I remember errors like that. Project64 may tell you this ROM has a core error. That's an error that relates to ROM core problems and bugs.

I would say your best bet is to get project64 v1.6 here > http://www.pj64.net/main/download/func,download/id,34/chk,4bc6ad376b6a0b414d6f8612f9f96136/

Also get the latest RDB file. Here is the link to download it and how to install the RDB file. > http://www.pj64.net/main/download/func,select/id,7/
(I don't think the RDB update contains anything new for crusin' world, but the update can't hurt)

If it doesn't work let me know and I will play crusin' world on my PC and see if I get a similar error and see if I can figure out how to fix it.

Like Iconclast said, it may be in the ROM core. If you downloaded several different copies and none of them worked, maybe that game just can't be emulated properly.:(

Like I said I will try mine Sunday or Monday night and see if I can't help you out. Keep us updated on if you were able to get v1.6 or anything else to work.:)

I did ugrade to 1.6 and tried. And I updated with the RDB File too. It seems too work flawless now except for skipping sound every 3 seconds. No error yet even through a whole championship. It might be fixed. But I will post if something happens again. Thanks guys.

Skipping sound? Try this:

While the game is running, open the Options/Configure Audio Plugin command. While configuring Jabo's audio plugin, enable the "Sync Game to Audio" option. If it is already on, I doubt this will work, but why not try disabling it?

I actually did do that already. It was already skipping without it on and with it on. Oh well though. It is really minor. Just really, really, really, brief lapse in music is all. Thanks anyway. The game seems to be running fine now, but as soon as something else happens I will be posting again.

OK, but just so you know. And if that option doesn't work, it's probably an internal core problem with the ROM in the audio deparment. Unless you are a ROM reprogrammer, there's nothing much you can do about that.
