Me and a friend are trying to play ZSNES 1.42 using netplay. We get a successful connection but after we connect with each other we can't open any rom files. We are trying to play Super Mario World. Does netplay only allow you to play certain 2 player games? Once we cancel the connection we can open the roms fine, just can't open them while we are connected. We are using UDP to connect. We cannot get a connection with TCP. Anyone have any ideas to why we can't open roms on connect using TCP?

Zbattle.net is the easiest way to play ZSNES roms online. Works like a snap for me.
I only tried direct connect once and I'm not sure why it worked one time..
Maybe a firewall issue.. I dunno.

Either that or http://www.hamachi.cc/download. Works, gives you your own IP so it wont conflict with your real one and you get to choose whos in your network, which increases gameplay since YOU control whos in and whos out. Decreases chances of lag.

To open roms, you and your friend have to have the same version of the rom and have the rom named the same. I would also suggest Hamachi which Sonic posted. Me and him used to play the SNES online with Hamachi and we had no lag whats so ever.

Yeah, I read all the docs included with ZSNES, it talks all about having the same roms and stuff. Hamachi is a very cool program thanks for the info about it. Still can't get ZSNES connected but I can see many usful applications for Hamachi.

If 1 of you are on Dialup makes it harder cuz Dialup IP changes each time you reconnect/disconnect whereas with Cable/DSL/High Speed they assign you a Static IP.
