I chose not to make a poll because there are so many different genres and I can only have 10 options.

Anyway, what's your fav genre(s)? Mine are Power, Progressive and Black Metal and Psychedelic Rock.

Mastodon isn't really prog, but they're still hella good. I'm into all metal genres really, but mostly black, prog, and power.

Um, yup. I haven't been able to understand their music yet, I do believe it's a good band, but it takes time for their songs to open up.

Mid 90's Rave, Hardcore, SID or SID'n'Drum Mixes, Game Music like original and remixes. A bit of Hip Hop, but not much as I was a former freestyle rapper long time ago...

What about Blind Guardian and Equilibrium eh?
As for Opeth, they're one of the bands that got me into the more extreme genres of metal. Damnation is one of my favorite albums ever actually :D .
As for the other dude, Mastodon are only considered prog by nubs such as yourself ;) .

Equilibrium I have never heard, Blind Guardian I just don't like for some reason. I have their legendary Nightfall in Middle Earth album, I just don't like it. I like some of their older stuff though, like the Follow the Blind album, even if everyone else seems to think it's just mediocre.

Umm, it's very dark music with very extreme lyrics, mostly satanistic but also nihilistic or... perverted. It's generally full of hate towards religion, religious people and in some cases, rasistic or homophobic or something like that. It's nothing you should take too seriously.

Same with Sigh, their lyrics are about insanity and weird stuff. As a matter of fact, most black metal lyrics are pro-religion. A lot of bands are all about Paganism and such.

Hip-hop is my favourite genre and the genre I have encyclopedic knowledge of. I'm open to anything though, I've just always had an ear for lyrics. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Jazz, and I've always loved certain video game soundtracks don't ya know.

Favorite genre? eh...I guess it be rock/metal with techno follow a bit behind. I really can't say for sure though, due to not caring enough to find out. I listen to whatever sounds good to me. I don't usually care about lyrics too much, just the music itself, which explains why so many game themes remixed can appeal to me so well.

Maybe it's a bit late for an answer, but sadly in my town everybody listens to Hip Hop. I've been around Hamburg, Bremen, Hannover, Köln (Cologne) and farer to the south of Germany and found out, that in smaller cities, like the one I live, they mostly listen to Hip Hop. In small towns with about 1000 people living there it is mostly Rock. In big cities (1.000.000+) they really listen to Hardcore, Hardstyle, House and other Techno genres. It varies a lot!

In Spain it's mostly Techno and Rock. Hard to hear some Hip Hop over there. And don't forget about the Spanish music they listen everywhere.
