i am pretty new at this and cannot get any games to open, i have already un-zipped them and have tried everything i can think of. i am trying to open final fantasy III and final fantasy VI, and supermario rpg for super nes through the zsnes emulator, im not sure if it is a rom problem or an emulator problem, and also the files that i un-zipped are smc files, which i have never seen and dont know if they are the right ones

Yes, SNES ROMz have the .smc or .fig extention, this is correct.

Also, U really don't have to extract Games before U play them, emulators have zipfile support, they can read it just fine being zipped. It only uses up more of Ur HD space if U got 100's or even 1000's of ROMz ;)...

ZSNES s fairly easy to use, make sure U have the latest version, U can get it from www.zsnes.com .

It's as basic as most other emulators but the looks of it can get a little confusing if U R new to this, if U find the emulator to be confusing then U could try SNES9X, U can get it from http://www.snes9x.com/ :)...

When you downloaded the ZSNES file and unzipped it, there should have been a folder named "docs" in the extracted zsnes folder.

Open the docs folder and open the "gui.htm" file, it will pretty much tell you everything you need to know about using ZSNES. It is a great help guide. If the file doesn't have the "docs" folder in it, then download it from a different site.

I prefere ZSNES as I have had no problems with it.

Snes9x (as Kameo mentioned)
SNeSe
Super Slueth

I've never really used any of those ones, so can't give an opinion on how they are. ZSNES is a great one though.
