proberly, not that it will be anyuse to you because you will need a emulator to play the content. and since no1 has made a decent one yet it would just be wasted memory:)

I guess you could rip it as an ISO image or Virtual CD, but like savkind said, there aren't any decent PS2 emus, so what would be the point.

I know that normal CD/DVD pc drives cannot read Gamecube or Xbox discs because they are written from outside edge to inside edge, so they can only be read by the DVD drives in the GC/Xbox systems.

PS2 didn't use this reverse writting protection on their disc cause they still wanted the PS2 to play PS1 games. You can use a program such as Alcohol 120 or Virutal game drive to get by the CSS and other copyright protection on PS2 discs to either make them as an image on your harddrive or copy them to a DVD-R. I think you have to put a mod chip in your PS2 to play burnt games though.

Mod chips are chips that you can add to or replace the chips inside the game console. They make them for lots of systems to play import or burnt discs ect. They allow you to modify the bios of the console to be able to play these games. Installing any mod chip voids any warranty you have on your system and you can easily damage the console if you don't know what you are doing. For PS2,I found a disc on ebay that supposedly allows you to play burnt PS2 games without the use of installing a mod chip though.

I'm not sure, I've just heard you that your PS2 can't play burnt discs...
I am assuming that when you copy the disc using a program like alcohol 120 it removes the CSS or whatever kind of copyright protection is on the disc, so that protection isn't on the copied disc and when your PS2 sees that the protection isn't on the disc, it won't play it. That’s just a guess though, I’ve never actually tried to play burnt PS2 games.

I’ve had problems not being able to copy PC games though. I can make a copy using Nero or Virtual Drive and even install the copy of the disc to my PC, but when I try to run the game using the copy, the PC somehow knows it’s a copy and tells me to insert the original disc, not a copy…of course you can just put a no CD patch in the installation folder and get around that;), but the PC still knows the disc is a copy.

I guess you could always just burn a copy and make sure it doesn't work before actually trying to mod you PS2.

IDK about Virtual Drive but nero sucks when it comes to burning:mad:
I'll PM you;)
