Blaze Bayley, greatest vocalist of all time in my opinion, which seems to be strictly my opinion. And of course Iron Maiden.
Those would be my absolute favourites... Then there's Children of Bodom, Liquid Tension Experiment, Sigh, Rush, DragonForce, Amorphis, and the list just goes on forever.

Behh, I hate trying to pick a favorite.
I guess I'll go with Mike Portnoy (God) as my favorite musician, and his main band, Dream Theater, as my favorite band. Following close behind DT would be Sigh, Orphaned Land, Opeth, LTE, Boris, Amon Amarth, Burzum, Immortal, etc.

Carlrt

All their songs are emo :\

Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when september ends

like my fathers come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when september ends

EMO!!! Talking about the first 7 years of his life

like my father's come to pass
twenty years has gone so fast

EMO EMO EMO!!!! /wrists /wrists

And this proves it:

...Wake Me Up When September Ends was meant to be an emotionally driven song...

Greenday has soooo many better songs than that song...

Crazed Dragon

Good job. :P

Anyhoo, my favorite band is Something Corporate, followed closely by blink-182, Mest, Motion City Soundtrack, All American Rejects, Bowling for Soup, New Found Glory, The Spill Canvas, Reliant K, October Fall, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and The Academy Is.... Other bands/artists I like include Lifehouse, Blues Traveler, Katamari Damacy, The Beatles, certain Pink Floyd songs, Bob Marley, and lots of other stuff, in no particular order. I KNOW I'm forgetting stuff, and I like just about everything, save country, really hardcore rap, death metal, and whatever System of a Down thinks it is. Just what exactly is it? If you listen closely, you'll hear the familiar sound of no one caring.

So not true. Then your sense of variety would die and so would a little piece of you. However that little piece was the key stone of essentuality that makes up your psyche. So if you were to remove all other bands your mind would collapse and you would in an attempt to make unicorns shut the hell up beat your left arm with a dull brick and then eat every first born in the land of New Jersey, afterward you would more than likely take all song lyrics to a literal extent and try to wreak as much anarchy as a psychotic person would be able to, then you'd start reverting to a primal ape form at degenerating your hip bone so that you can slither better when you crawl on people's floor so that you mayest eat their children in the anonymity of the night and behold unto them the chaos of your idiotic and bothersome music that only a mother with a pension check, herpes, a crooked smile, alcohol in every cabinet in the house, and an ugly deformed down syndrome child could love.

It truly is strange how most forum users in general are massive fans of metal music. Note the word 'most', so don't incinerate me for generalising here, it's just an observation.
My favourites? In no particular order:

Beastie Boys
Public Enemy
Metallica
Rage Against the Machine
Run DMC
Daft Punk
MSTRKRFT
Kraftwerk
SebAstian
Uffie (Anything Ed Banger basically)
Boys Noize

As you can see, basically Hip Hop (old school ONLY might i add, none of this modern RnB incarnation) and Electro with a touch of metal in there. I'm a notorious music nazi, and i hate indie music with such an unquenchable passion.

Alot of people slam DragonForce, but I think they are a ok band. I mean, they are power metal and what not, but still, they got some cool songs.

The thing is, the people that slam them, only listen to mainstream rock/metal, hell they probably didn't know who DragonForce was until they were on Guitar Hero III
