First day of Junior Year....
Oi. This one sucked.
September 6th, 2007 ; 5:50 AM.
For the first time in a long time, I have to wake up early. But this isn't why today sucked. Not even close. Okay, so I'm pretty awake even though I only slept 6 hours. I get ready and go. My mom drives me up to the bus stop. There we wait for half an hour past the time the bus was supposed to come. Okay, so what is taking so long?? Oi. No, this isn't why today sucked either. A bunch of buses pass, but none of them stop. The bus I want is the one that comes from a corner in back of us.
So, we keep watching that corner....eventually, the bus shows, and I get on....but HOLY **** its crowded as hell in there. Buses were not meant to hold this many people. I move to the back where I find some familiar faces. Cool, I know some people on this bus. I sit next to my friend, but i have about a half a foot of seat under me. So I have to balance myself on that for like 15 blocks until we get to school while the bus turns all over the place. Just standing up would've been more comfortable. That isn't why today sucked, though.
Okay, we get to school. By now my arms and legs are aching from the horrible lack of seat. We go in, and I'm in the same homeroom as my friend, 11-7. Lawl, it looks like 7-11! Uh...anyways, we go in and sit down. Mrs. Horwath is my homeroom moderator. Okay, that's not bad at all. Maybe things will get better from here......nah. The next few hours were filling out my schedule and going to two assemblies. I was disappointed with my schedule. Pretty much every primary elective wasn't on there, so I had both secondary electives (which I don't really want anymore) and one semester was just blank and filled in with studies. Damn, I gotta fix that. I'm not happy with how it is. Sure, it was nice to see everyone again, and I was happy I got to school okay, but eventually I realized it was really, REALLY boring. At least 1/3 of the day was spent doing nothing at all. Sheesh. And sitting on the floor of the gym for an hour isn't exactly comfortable. But this isn't why today sucked, either. I could live with a sore butt and some boredom.
Okay. I've just got back from the last assembly. Lets see....now I have 1 hour to kill before dismissal. I just read my new student handbook. It's nothing I haven't seen before, but I needed something to do. The fun facts are good for a minute or two. Holy ****, the word "the" is the most commonly used word in English.
Okay, finally I got out. My bus was a few minutes late, but whatever. Just get me home. I found a few more friends I hadn't seen that morning. Okay, cool. Then my stop comes up, and my bus driver just keeps going. I think she said she was going to turn around. Okay fine. Well, she doesn't turn around and we get further and further into Paterson. What the **** is this?? Gah. I give the number to the bus driver to call home, but, of course, no one's home during the day. Crap. I could call my mom at work, but I can't remember the last 3 digits to that number. Shyt. Everyone else gets off at their stops, and the bus driver takes me to the depot. Awwwwww....why can't I just go home? Oi.
Okay, this depot is somewhere in the slums of Paterson. I don't do ghetto. Seriously, it cramps my style, and it was more clear now than ever. Well anyway, the dispatcher calls up the Board of Education. There I tried to tell her that the bus service sucks ***, please help me. Well, I hand the phone back to the dispatcher. Apparently, the Board of Education doesn't give a **** and has dumped the responsiblity on the bus depot. THIS is why today sucked. Holy crap, if I was going to have to wait there for 4 hours until my mom came home, I would've gone insane.
Thankfully, another dispatcher gave me money to take a cab home. So, I got home 2 hours later than I would've if everyone got their **** right. I got on the bus to get to school and back, not to get in touch with my ghetto side. Damn. I'm not getting back on that bus until they fix that. I thought I was going to have a bus with a lot of people I know this year, but I dunno if I even get a bus now. ****balls.
Last year I got a messed up bus, too, but that was only the first day. I hope this all works out. So far, my Junior year is off to a horrible start. I'm not being pessimistic or anything, either. I'm sorry, but today was just god awful. I hope tomorrow is better.
