How do you save and load games?

Im using the zsnesw for super nintendo, and i cannot figure out how to save and then load saved games! I tried to save on the game, and using the "Save state" buttons, but now it wont load my game

First: Go To Pick State and pick between 1-9
Then Save State

make sure you dont delete the save state file, and that it is in the correct directory,then when you wanna use it again, pick state load state

And that's how to do it via menus.

Via hotkeys however...

F2 is Save State
F3 brings up the Choose State Window. Choose a state via the arrow keys and pressing Enter on your selection.
F4 is Load State
