It's a dumped/copied image of a gamecode coming from a cartridge. NES cartridges turn into NES ROMs like that.

Games that R on CD/DVD and have their code dumped R called ISOs, so a PSX game that has its code dumped turn into PSX ISOs :) .....

Then get the stuff that's required to do so and run the ROMs on Ur iPod :p .....
