The only game I have is Marvel Vs Capcom 2, but when I load it, it'll say I don't have enough blocks to save my data. It says I need 5 blocks, but I have no data saved on the memory card (VMS). Can anyone help me? I hope I'm clear enough. Btw, when I open VMS there's two memory cards there or something.

This is what I see :

Not to sound dumb, but what are those? I'm completely new to the Dreamcast emulator.

Did you go to the Dreamcast dashboard and go to the memory card and delete the red x? Go look at the walkthrough im pretty sure i included that part.

I figured I'd post here instead of starting a new thread....
I have Chankcast(I tried all currently released versions) and have downloaded the BIOS files as well. I configured Chankast according to the guide in the console emu forum. I have tried soul calibur, RE 7th mansion, and Legacy of Kain. The games boot, I hear the Dreamcast music, but the graphics aren't drawn properly. all I see is a black screen, with a few small horizontally oriented rectangles with triangles in the middle. I have directx9.0C, and latest drivers for my video card. I am running an AhtlonXP 1700+ w/ 256 MB PC2100 RAM, and MB Bus at 133Mhz. My video card is older, Nvidia RivaTNT2 Model 64 32 MB 4xAGP. I think my video card may be too old for Chankast... Any suggestions?

Get a new video card, I have never heard of that problem but I know that card is pretty old.

I don't know if giving dreamcast support is acceptable, if not, then sorry.

that's the VMS browser.

you can click a VMS to see what's inside. you can import saves with the import save button. This is useful when some parts of the games freeze up and you can't pass them by simply playing and you can import a complete game save so you can skip the parts that freeze.

BTW dawnshine1979, FYI, don't expect to run Soul Calibur at a good speed on your processor.

And yeah, Riva TNT2 isn't good enough for Chankast.

Thanks for the info guys... I will probably just get a dreamcast console, as that would be cheaper then building a new PC.

They are right, you do you do do need a better video gard, but this is NOT all of your problem. First off, view the chankast Readme file, and make sure you meet the min/recommended requirements.

I am running a Nvidia 6600 512mbDDR2 on a P4HT(2) w/1.24GB Ram, so i toally meet the requirements; but I get the same problem on certain games (ex. South Park Rally). First, try swithcing the Chankast video cable settings from NTSC to VGA or vice versa., and make sure you mount with alcohol 120% (i hear Daemon works too for some titles)
If it still doesnt work I have found that for games that do this, you can mount the image with alcohol, and use the copy wizard to burn it to CD-R, and 9 out 0f 10 times they wok perfectly when played on a pre-2000 Dreamcast.
Hope this helps.
Bu why go to all that trouble when you can buy the legal titles dirt cheap online for DC; you just gotta hunt for them

If you bought the pysical disk, there is always a chance you will be scammed.

Is your microprocessor bad enough to handle Chankast?

Here are the minimum requirements to run ChankastAlpha025, the newest version. If you cant meet them your're pretty much SOL, it takes some heavy power to run it at full speed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:(FROM THE USER MANUAL FILE)
--DC Bios and Flash Files
--Pentium 3/4 HT or AMD XP with at least 1.6Ghz
--256Mb Ram, Preferrably DDR2
--Windows XP or 2003
--128Mb Video Card at least Directx9.0b compatible,(Recommended 256Mb RAM)
**THIS EMULATOR IS NOT COMPATABLE WITH WINDOWS 9x/ME/2000**
