Now, im buying a laptop off of ebay. It is an acer. It is using an AMD 64 Turion X2 1.8 duo core. or t-56. It will have 1 gig of ram installed aswell.

The reason im mentioning those specs is because i know they have some way of tying in with the vid card. Now, my problem is pretty basic. I've done a lot of searching, and i've found many different things about thie ati 1100...for a AMD notebook/laptop that is.

I just want to know what the EXACT memory is. The dedicated memory and its full capacity when sharing your ram with it.

I've found some people saying its a 256. Some a 128. some lower. Some say it expands to a 512 to a 256 and to a 128. As you can see, I'm pretty confused. And i CANNOT wait for my laptop to come to check it out. I hope someone may have this card in their laptop and already know my answer, or at least someone who can express there opinion on it.

Now just remember, it is a LAPTOP video card. To be blunt I want the dedicated memory, full capacity when sharing with ram, and any comments about it, and any games youd recommend using with it?

Thanks a lot..

( Exact name is "ATI Radeon™ Xpress 1100 Series for AMD Notebooks " )

That all nice. I found that myself days ago. I know thats just one giant copy paste off of the amd website. But some people i know that have the ati xpress are boasting a 256 dedicated chip...Now im not sure if they have a 128 borrowing on ram another 128. or if they have a pure 256...and a possible only shareable 128 to 300 whatever, or a possible sharing 256 to a 512.

There must be someone on coolrom who knows this! lol I still appreciate the help Kameo, thanks.

I posted the link to the AMD site right under it. ;)

Yeah i got that. I understand. I read it myself to when i went on the amd website. Well, i guess i'll have to go off of that for now. I'm still stumped with other people having 256 hypermemory without using ati catalyst, or another over clocking device, or sharing their ram.

Unless they developped a later version of the card....Anyways thanks for the help Kameo. And like I said if any one uses this card or can recommend games to use with it..Leave a post. Thanks again
