I guess I'm not the type that likes old games, so GBA's probably my favourite. But I do remeber playing Mario games on super nintendo when I was very little.:)

Well let me just say that all of those systems emus rule except gamecube way to glitchy right now. The best sytems to play emulated are dreamcast-chankast .25, mame, Nebula-for certain games that mame wont run, Zinc for psxarcade, and ssf for sega saturn. Oh yeah cant forget the sega model 2 for house of the dead, and crystal system for crystal of the kings.

Why is this thread in the Arcade section?? It's more a thing for the Console emulation forum as it is about consoles, not Arcades ;)...

I'll go for GBA, N64 and PSX emulation BTW :P...

Link every post you've had was just a stupid little remark....stop with the flaming okay? and yea this would be more better in the console forum, hopefully the admin will move it.
Anway my favorite would have to be SNES and NES only because they don't take alot of space.

im going to have to say that my fave emulation platform as of right now is the epsxe....and i say this only because i thought for the past few years that psx emulation was a joke because i could never find emulators and games for them..only a few days ago have i discovered that one could actually play psx on the pc...so im impressed most by this recent event...but for the record i have used the super nintendo emulator and the Visual boy advance the most frequently

I love the ZSNESW. I have played most of the best RPG's released in the U.S on the SNES back in the day but I, along with many others, missed out on a hell of a lot of great Japanese only releases.
Many years later ( yep, I'm like, old or something ) I'm talking to a friend of mine about the many way's console gaming has evolved and stated waxing nostalgic about the old day's and *****ing about all of the games I didn't get to play. He told me about emulators--after he laughed at me with " You got to start getting into forums! This stuff has been around for years!"--
and the hard working guy's who did, and are still, translating these games for us.
I'm like a pack rat when it comes to systems and games. I own everything from pong up to the new X Box 360 ( I'm not all THAT impressed with it yet. C'mon PS3! ) and still get the older systems out and play from time to time
( and I'm STILL buying games for them. I get a stupid satisfaction out of actually having the carts and disc in my collection.) and finding the SNESW was like getting a little slice of heaven. I would have paid a hell of a lot of money to get my hands on Tales of Phantasia. And getting the original Final Fantasy 6 translation let me play the game how it was meant to be played.
Thank you very much to people who do the translations and a very big thank you to the people who put together these great sites where we can get our grubby ( Virtual ) hands on the ROM's.

That was touching... anyway ZSNESW is the best because i get to play all the old time rpgs from before i was born and from when i was like 5. Visual Boy Advance is also very good and thanks to Ridley I can enjoy the same things with better graphics and translations =D But i have a quick question.. Whats up with Final Fantasy 3 and 6? both that i ahve for snes are the same so i dont know which one is the real one.

In October of 1994, Final Fantasy 6 was released in the US for the SNES with the name Final Fantasy 3. Why? Previously, Squaresoft had only released Final Fantasy 1 and 4 in the US. They released Final Fantasy 4 as Final Fantasy 2, since the original Final Fantasy 2 and 3 for NES were never released here.

Add the fact that when a lot of Nintendo games are translated into English they ( Nintendo ) dumbed down the difficulty and language. They also cut some content that the original Japanese games had. So Final Fantasy III and VI are basically the same game but the U.S version was heavily censored.
The U.S version is great and if that's the only version you play you've played a really good game. The Japanese version is the greatest RPG ever created
( In my and many, many others opinion) and I recommend that any one who likes RPG's play it at least once.

Japanese release

Final Fantasy (NES)
Final Fantasy 2 (NES)
Final Fantasy 3 (NES)
Final Fantasy 4 (SNES)
Final Fantasy 5 (SNES)
Final Fantasy 6 (SNES)

US released (90's)

Final Fantasy (NES)
2(not officially released)
3(not officially released)
4-Final Fantasy 2 (SNES)
5(not officially released)
6-Final Fantasy 3 (SNES)

US released (2000's)

Final Fantasy Origins, as Final Fantasy (PSX)
Final Fantasy Origins, as Final Fantasy 2 (PSX)
3(not officially released)
Final Fantasy Chronicles, as Final Fantasy 4 (PSX)
Final Fantasy Anthology, as Final Fantasy 5 (PSX)
Final Fantasy Anthology, as Final Fantasy

My favorite is SNES 9x build v1.41 because I found it super easy to use and always works, plus with over 700 titles it is awomse cause so many are still fun to play. an then there is N64, I had goten mario 64 to work but i only saw a gibbled title screen, which gave me hope that it was possible to emulate a considerably good system but alas I cannot like it because my computer cannot display more than 16bit working with most games. Im sure one day soon I will be blabing telling all how much I like PSX and nintendo 64 emulators too but for now I have a second favorite at least, sega CD emulaotr Gen! it even plays the master system games and 32x games. now thats nostalgia!
the PSX and gamecube are not in my opinion functional because I have tried ePSXe and the roms took 3 days to download one game, givin it was 2 discs, anyways gamecuve acan only be worse than the PSX one. although if I do get PSX to work on my new desktop I will have to buy some TDK black bottom discs and test alcohol 120% .......... until then
