Hi everybody, ive just joined the forums today, and i would like to firstly say how extremely happy i am with the service on offer here at CoolROM.com, and secondly how i would love to see the service last. So donations a-plenty :)
Back to my topic;
I remember some years ago (4-5) i stumbled across the MESS emulator randomly while searching for MAME32. I installed it and found how fantastic it really was, it emulated every console i needed and with all the settings from MAME32. Moving on, 4-5 years later, the other week, i thought of it again, found its official website and download the very latest version which is v105 like the new mame versions too. It was even more greater then it was, it now emulates a larger amount of consoles (around 150-200 - SNES, Megadrive, MasterSystem, Playstation, N64 ect..) and supports Direct3D acceleration and filtering etc, and 48Khz sample rates as a sound example. Theres nothing better then having every console emulated from within a single program together with MAME32's great options. Its perfect. :)
What i have found however is that the latest versions from i think
v.92 > v105, there seems to be alot of errors and crashing randomly. Its irritatting as MESS has just finally reached its best, offering every option a Rom'er can want. Im not too sure if its system dependant, and thus being the cause of the errors here and there, but if anybody also uses MESS, why not post back with your views, see if we can get some info going. :)
