Hello all, Im new to this stuff after finally getting a new laptop and external hard drive and figured id join up here and see whats what, maybe meet other people who feel old when playing the classic systems, lol.

Im looking to get a controller to plug into my laptop so i dont have to confuse the shyt out ofmyself with the keyboard with all the games i have, does anyone recommend one that I could use for NES, SNES, Master System, Genesis, and N64 emulators, as well as Dreamcast and PSX once I find emulators and ROMS

Also, until I get one, can anyone tell me what keys represent which gamepad buttons for the above systems cause I manage to figure out which ones most of the time but for the most part im at a loss and makes me feel even older when these old games kick my a$$ :mad2:

lastly, ive got a few japanese games, likethe Fire Pro wrestling for SNES, anyone know where i can english versions if they exist, as well as how to do the moves cause ive never played them at all before

well I'm not sure which controllers out there would be the best, but the MadCats controller I got form Futureshop work great for me, and it was under 30 bucks I think. looks pretty much like a an xbox360 contrroller, cept clear color and a madcats logo ofcourse. But pretty much any controller the can plug into a USB port SHOULD work with MOST emulators, you'd just have to configures the controls yourself

which bring me your other request about which keys do with commands. I suggest not trying to figure out which one the emulators had for default and configuring them to the keys which best suit you. Its not a hard thing to figure out, its usually hiding under something like Tool, Options, or Configure somewhere.

As for your finaly request, I myself can't help you with, but I do know this, the less known/popular the jap game, the less likely someone has gone and translated it or made a patch for it. Although maybe you'll get lucky with that one, who knows. Wait and see if another member has what your looking for

also, welcome to the forums
