Trying to find a NES game

When i was about 8 years old i remember playing a game on the NES.
It was a space/ish game where you had a little fighter craft kind of thing and you could move anywhere on the screen. The enemies scrolled down the screen and you had to shoot them. I also remember there being bonuses where you could get stronger guns or more rapid fire rate or more lives.

Can anyone help me find the name of this game.

Sounds like Clone Invaders...whatever that happens to be on the NES

There's a lot of games reformed by that.
