A lot of games come with some sort of extra gameplay features after you beat the game once; whether it's starting the main storyline in an RPG over again with your old items and levels, or getting access to new characters, etc.
The problem I'm having is with Dragon Force in particular. I just beat the game with Mihkal, and once you've beaten the game once with any particular starting country, you're supposed to receive access to playing as Goldark and Reinhart. I haven't played as one of these guys since my Sega Saturn was still working, which was quite some time ago, so I'd like to get them unlocked. The thing is, because of how save states work, the game always thinks I'm starting a brand new game, so I can't get access to these two extra plotlines.
Is there a cheat of some sort that's available to start a game as one of these two rulers, or is there a more general solution to have the game recognize a completed file somehow?
I'm using the SSF emulator if that makes any difference.
