I was wondering admin, what is the best program for making a website? And is there a special program to make forums? I always wanted to make a forum just for fun, but i never really had the time. I'm not really conserned about the price, all i need is the name(s) of those/that program(s).

Hey pizza. As you can see, for our forums, I use vBulletin - www.vbulletin.com which costs a hefty $160 for an owned license or $85 for a leased (1 year) license. To start off, I suggest you use a free forum program, and I personally think phpBB - www.phpbb.com is a good fit for your situation. As for web sites, there are programs out there such as Dreamweave and Frontpage that allows yout to create web pages, but I personally type raw HTML :). Of course, you will need web hosting, and for the forums, you will need to have access to a MySQL database. Hope this helps.

I personally like the interface of it, and yes, it is the best in my opinion. Of course, if you are not willing to spend that much on a forum script, there are always better alternatives.

ok, but if i get one of those programs to help me make a website, do i have to pay for the website?

Well, in order to place the files on the internet, you will need a web host. There are free hosts out there, but I don't think any offer a MySQL database (to store your forums) for free. You can pay a small fee everything for web hosting to get you started - eg. www.rackslash.com, and you might also need a domain name (you can get one at www.godaddy.com) as well.

well, the thing is that getting the program isn't the problem. I just need to know how to use it. But im not sure were i can get a web host( or whatever that is ). If i know someone with a website, can i just put the forum on there for free?

The best free forum maker in my opinion is www.invisionfree.com. The best paid forum maker is www.vbulletin.com.

Hmm for aldelpha cost $10+ on addition to the monthly cost to have high speed and have your server to establish a web site but not sure if I or my brother want to do it
