I'm not very familier with PSX file types. Can someone please post the difination or what these files do and how they are made;
1. file.cue
2. file.bin
3. file.IMG
These are not really psx file types, just image file types.
Check here for more information (look for the heading "Common formats"): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_image
Hope this helps :)

So if i make an image of a PS2 game, then it would work in my PS2? I have heard it is near impossible to copy a PS2 disk, but I'm not a professional with this stuff, so I'm not sure.

ps2 emulation isn't possible with most commercial games (i dont believe) yet. i have the ps2 bios file and a ps2 emu, but i still cant play any of my games. i can emulate the main menu, and the browser and all that, but no games. pm me if you want me to send you the bios file, maybe you will have more luck than i. and again, you would need a mod chip to get burned games to work in the system.

Just a side note:
He isn't talking about PS2 emulation. He's asking how to copy a PS2 game, that means how to make an image of a original game and how to burn that image so that it will work in the _PS2_ (using a modchip, swapping or whatever).

oh...duh haha. im retarded :) well, you would need to have a dvd burner and you would need blank dvds since ps2 games run off of dvd-roms. other than that, you should be able to do it just like a psx game.

I've heard you have to have a mod chip or a swap disc to play burnt games on PS2, not sure if you really do though.

Please, the PS2 Bios is not legal, so refrain from saying you will PM it to someone, do it in private, or dont do it at all.

Oh, sorry, how silly of me. I will try not to talk about BIOS and other illegal stuff. But just for couriosity, why are the BIOS illegal?

because it is essentially the operating system for the console. it would be like people sharing copies of windows.

Oh, I never knew that. How many BIOS are there for the PS2?

there are different versions, i don't know how many. there are at least different ones for the japanese, north american, and european versions of the console. i think there is actually a legal way of obtaining the original playstation one. or maybe it used to be legal and no longer is. but you had to have some cable and an action replay or something like that and you could extract the bios from the system. but i don't know anything else about that.

not that i know of...actually wait, yes there is. there used to be a thing called a "Dex Drive" for the PSX/N64. it was made by the same company that makes gameshark. it would let you import game save files to your computer, and also download save files from the net. i used to have one, and it was pretty sweet (once i figured out how to get the blasted thing to work). then again, that was like 7 or 8 years ago and i didnt have the computer knowledge i do now. anyway, you could probably find one on ebay or something.

What do you think is the best game for the PS1? I would also like to know if Chrono Cross is good?

i really think that the best was final fantasy VII. never played chrono cross, but it is definitely considered a classic, and its on my list to play. but i need to play chrono trigger first
