  1. Why does the new forum design make things more complex ? So it's harder to tell no one goes on here ?
  2. Does anybody even go on here anymore ?
  3. Happy to hear! Well at least about the status of not having anything to be depressed about. Just good to know it doesn't apply to everyone; I mean I won't deny I started experiencing it at a very late age due to interpersonal stuff, but it kind of just blew away in an instant it seems.

But anyway, the thread I laid out the tournament in for SSB:
    http://www.coolrom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30461

I try to be like really organized and maintain deadlines for everything; the habit seems to pay off in my opinion. Also you don't have to like, feel compelled to join; part of the reason I do these tournaments is so that we can all test the plugins I am writing XD.
  4. I get the impression like a bunch of people got depressed over their own thing in life or something, and that's why traffic went from a peak to a [momentary] plummet.

Anyway I guess I neglected to mention this earlier on, but for the sake of instantiation, I did just get another Super Smash Bros. N64 tournament thread started. So far 4/5 of us seem to be able to play it online really well.
  5. Sorry though I guess I can't help but be curious, it seems as though you've gotten more busy? Or has CoolROM just depressed to much boredom for everyone since past I remember? Not that it's my business I guess I just couldn't help but wonder.
  6. Plus, DirectInput is out-of-date. The newer layer that's updated in DirectX is called RawInput, but currently no plugins exist for that. I'd have written one by now if I wasn't so preoccupied with this RSP vector interpreter.

But currently N-Rage is the best way to get those various devices working.

I also wrote a very small keyboard-only plugin if you'd like to try that :
    https://raw.github.com/cxd4/rcp/mast...d/keyboard.dll
  7. I left all the original N64 equipment (controllers, carts, etc.) back at home. I have had interest in using adapters for a while, but I've stuck to remaining a virgin and just using the keyboard for emulation all my life. Not because I'm like really religious about it or anything, just that people who can't understand how keyboards work kind of annoy me XD. Or, being adaptable/flexible just occurs naturally to me, somehow.

But yes I have had interest in it, just not that good on terms of where to shop or how to get an adapter to begin with. I hear MayFlash sucks !
My keyboard plugin is perfect for the keyboard .
But if you're using an Xbox 360 controller, you should use an XInput plugin.

Otherwise, until I finish writing a RawInput plugin, you're stuck with DirectInput (bah, nasty typos on this crappy temp keyboard, almost said suck) plugins I believe. The best one is N-Rage's DirectInput 2.1 RC3.
  8. Oh, well at least you tried.

Honestly I've been curious for a while what it's like to buy an adapter and use some exotic controller device to play games, but really all this keyboarding has made me play SSB not as good on the actual N64 controller anymore it would seem xD.

But at the moment I guess it's worth it. Making a keyboard plugin is really simple because you don't have to include some operating system API and have overhead delay with device access, since the keyboard drivers are system standard. My keyboard DLL is only 4 KB XD, had been putting a lot of thought into which key mappings / control assignments to make for it though, seems to be a lot of disagreement on that.
  9. Certainly.

Much of my learning experience with the RSP plugin system however is based on the reverse-engineered information on signal processing vector operations, as well as extensive arrays of sources on the existence and nonexistence of various MIPS and SGI-extended operation codes in the RSP opcodes matrix.

However I've been picking up the speed a bit for a while now while fixing original bugs in the Project64 RSP source base, half of which accidentally fixed by my natural instincts XD.

I wrote my own controller plugin easily, though, but it only uses the keyboard. I don't know of many keyboard users for emulation out there like me.
  10. Totally. They were even willing to document the bits that were relatively easy to emulate, and leave out only the documentation of the most complicated algorithmic components of the hardware. They have been figured out to a reasonable extent, but ultimately it's a greater threat against the ability to compose an emulator than any written legislature.

One of those mathematical things that I am constantly focused on unraveling these days , or the speed of my RSP emulation plugin code has not been surpassing that of the simple interpreter used by Project64.
