Whenever I try to run SSF on my Vista laptop, it gives me this error:
XAudio2Create() error.
File: ./XAudio2.cpp
Line: 218
Function: XAudio2_Initialize

It doesn't even give me a chance to configure my bios...
Has anyone gotten this error before? Google isn't helping at all.

I'm getting the same problem! I just built this computer a week ago, too. I'm dualbooting with Windows XP Pro x86 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and I get the same exact problem you're getting on both OSes.

Do you have an onboard audio card? I can't shake the feeling that my onboard audio is causing the problem, but I can't really tell. It works fine for everything else.

I just searched on all three computers in the house. None of them have anything called xaudio2 on the hard drive. One of them has an actual sound card and not onboard audio, but I didn't try SSF on the other computers because they're ancient. What's up with this xaudio2 thing?

I got it! All I had to do was run the directx updater thingy. Prototype seems to have this problem, too. I found this fix as a fix for Prototype, but it works just fine for SSF. Both XP Pro x86 and 7 Ultimate x64 were fixed by the same updater, too.

I'm too new to post links properly, so please recombine this link on your own... programmerfish.co m/how-to-fix-prototypes-could-not-find-xaudio2-error-on-windows-7-and-vista/

They said Saturn emulation could never be done. Yeah right. Fighters Megamix and Daytona USA CCE run great after I did the maximum compatibility option. Daytona's got background flicker, but you don't notice that when you're racing! Anyway, I forgot how crappy Daytona looks compared to the direct3d patched Daytona USA Deluxe for the PC. Oh well, it's still good times

I've got to try more of my games later!
