I found Banjo-Kazooie and it was my favorite N64 game as a child. I found it and was like "Heck yes..." so I did and when I began playing it, the characters spoke but there was no text. I couldn't read what they were saying. Any idea of what's wrong?

Try a different plugin, that game ran fine for me.

It may have been because you had the "Super SXSai Textures" and/or the "Use Linear Filtering" option enabled, causing bad effects on text and dialogue with intentional pixelated and aliased appearances.
