Default Controller buttons

Hello I'm brand new at emulation. Yesterday I downloaded my first emulator and first two games. The emulator is the fceu-0.98.12 and the games are Lolo and Mega Man 2. I like the original configuration of the buttons but I'm having trouble with jumping. Is there any way to keep from having to hit the alt button twice to complete a jump? A confession....one of the reasons I keep the button configs is that I don't understand how to change them.

One more question....is it possible to get Zelda Roms?

Thanks

Ooh...I never thought I'd see the day I'd be helping someone with something other than N64 emulation, but I so happen to emulate the NES as well. Um, I just checked, and you go to the Config/Input command. Click the Configure button on the left, and set controls for Virtual Gamepad 1.

Yes, it is possible to get Zelda ROMs. Erm, Kameo has these torrents he might tell you about, he might not; I don't even know if it's legal. But you have to install BitLord and stuff. All I can say is you're on your own when it comes to getting Mario, Zelda, Rayman, and Donkey Kong ROMs.

Independent thinking is hard work and not worth the time.

True beauty lies within. It's why so many people are downright ugly.

Yes, it is Samus, but you can't get those games for the NES either? I thought you couldn't get them for the N64, and maybe the SNES.

You've all been very helpful I did get the game buttons working, but I can't figure how to use items with them, or save if it doesn't automatically do it. I gave up on Mega-Man for a while and downloaded Star Tropics 2. It auto saves, but I haven't discovered how to use potions, etc. Do all the emulators work the same way, or would I have better luck with a different one? I posted which emulator I use in the first message in this thread.

If you want to go to an emulator site, then go here.

Edit: And no, emulators are different, so pick another one if one doesn't work.
