Use ZSNES, much better than SNES9X...

I only emulate Nintendo 64 games, but I used to try ZSNES. You can download a version of it compatible in MS-DOS mode, which is the computer-scientific mode that your computer boots in before Windows starts. It's cool. Typing the ROM to open is a pain, but not when you make an MS-DOS Batch File:

A:\GAMES\ROMNAME.BAT

@ECHO OFF
A:\ZSNES.EXE A:\GAMES\ROMNAME.ZIP

It is difficult to run in DOS mode if you have Windows XP. You must format a 3.5" Floppy Disk. Check the option making it MS-DOS bootable. Restarting your PC with the disk in the drive boots in DOS.

Just a little something for those who like things in DOS mode.

What's the crap about ZSNES in DOS?? It's working great in Windows, who's using a DOS version while there's a W32 version of it anyway??

Yes, I know. Red has the lowest frequency, but the highest wavelength.

DOS is kiosk-related. Although I must admit the relative worthlessness of that post, it was to my liking to use DOS. Maybe there's someone out there like me, and more yet probably not. DOS version does everything Windows version does except for the mouse, which I bypass. Why do I use it? The madness...it tingles. Actually, I just like DOS. Windows XP is disadvantagous. Forget I brought it up.

Yeah, I second getting zsnes. get it from zsnes.com to make sure you get the latest version. I've never seen that error but some of the causes may be you just downloaded a bad copy of it from a site, or maybe it saved part of the file on a bad sector of your harddrive. I would defrag and run check disc to attempt recovery of bad sectors and try downloading it from a different site. You are using windows right? You might be having a problem if you are trying to use snes9x on a Mac.

But ZSNES is better than snes9x anyway.

@CRAP OFF
IF EXIST "A:\Apologize for Confusing.bat" (
A:\APOLOG~1.BAT
) ELSE (
ECHO Could not apologize.
)

I assume like most users he'll ignore things that are confusing for him. Others ask for it, but we've settled that. Forget about it, Nemo. The DOS part, that is.
