Default Burning Images To CD

I just tried to burn an image file back to disc using Alcohol. the burn worked and it runs off the cd when i use an emulator (pSX) but it won't load on my ps2, I get the message telling me to insert a playstation or playstation 2 format disc. is there a certain way to do it to be able to play it on an actual playstation or is that just not possible?

Default you need a modchip

To be able to play backups CD ISO's on a PS or PSOne, you will need a Modchip. Info about the install can be found here
http://www.modchip.ca/install/ps/101/101.php

You can also use a Disc Swap method similiar to the Sega Saturn. You basically boo the PS with an origianl Disc in, wait for PS to initialize, then swap the discs just before the game is supposed to boot. I never tried this with my saturn becuase I read that jerking thespindle will ruin the motor, and saturn's aren't near as common and PSOnes. My advive is get a modchip. If you've ever done any kind of soldering, you should be able to put it in with no problems...
helpful tips on soldering...
If you have to solder to legs of a chip, try soldering on the other side of the board where the solder is already present. you can also use scotch tape to "mask off" the other legs to prevent the solder from bridging a gap.

I installed a modchip in my saturn with no problems, only had to solder one wire to the power supply, and another wire to the modchip board itself, the PS modchip looks a lot harder. ...If youre going to try for a pSONE, try to get the older model, I would assume the parts are bigger and spaced farther apart, hence easier to solder. The guts of the MiniPSONE look pretty small.

Rime of the Ancient Mariner it's from their Powerslave album, it's generally considered to be the best of all the epic songs that they did. its really great, if you're a fan (of maiden) you should check it out. or i could email it to you.

I heard that you can have a mod chip for the PS2, but the PS2 will break after a while, is that true?
And whats a .iso file? Is it like a copy of a CD or DVD?
And if you burn an image to a CD/DVD what does that mean?
I'm sorry if i asked too much

Let me clarify this for you: both the PS1 and the PS2 will have their lifespam shortened if you use pirated games. This is even worse with the PS2.

Yeah, iso images are EXACT copies of the CD. And burning an image to a CD means that you'll have the contents of the image on a CD!!!

So, if I have a ISO of a CD I don't need a mod chip?
